Murray Hill, New Jersey, U.S., March 26, 2007 — Linde Gas, a U.S. affiliate of The Linde Group, one of the world’s leading engineering and industrial gases companies, has been recognized by the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) for excellent environmental performance in 2006.
The CGA presented Linde with its Environmental Excellence Award at the industry trade group’s annual meeting in Florida this month.
The award recognizes industrial gases companies whose efforts have a significantly positive effect on our environment. Linde received the award for developing the ECOCYL® refillable cylinder. The cylinder increases safety and efficiency for customers who now use disposable calibration gases or lecture bottles, and eliminates the need to dispose of them as hazardous waste.
“Linde is pleased we are able to reduce our impact on the environment. This project, and others like it, reflects Linde’s overall commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our employees, customers and neighbors wherever we do business,” said Pat Murphy, regional business unit head for Linde in North America.
The Linde Group is a world leading industrial gases and engineering company with more than 51,000 employees working in around 70 countries worldwide. Following the acquisition of The BOC Group the company has gases and engineering sales of approximately 12 billion euro. The strategy of The Linde Group is geared towards earnings-based growth and focuses on the expansion of its international business with forward-looking products and services.
